A boutique ultrasound like the one you receive at Little Loves 3D/4D is designed for comfort and connection. It’s nothing like a clinical diagnostic scan.
But every experience comes with some rules of the road. Knowing them can reduce anxiety and keep the focus where it belongs: on the baby!
When should you arrive to a 3D/4D ultrasound?
It’s best to arrive 10-15 minutes early. This gives you plenty of time to check-in and do your paperwork. It also gives you time to get your family settled into the suite so the full session time can be dedicated to viewing the baby.
Late arrivals often result in shorter sessions. This is necessary to respect the next family’s scheduled time.
How many guests can fit into the viewing suite?
Much depends on whether you’re doing the ultrasound in one of our viewing rooms or whether you’re doing it at home. If you’re not sure, call ahead and ask. You want to make sure all your guests are comfortable.
And while this is a celebration, your sonographer will still need a focused environment to capture the best images.
How can I prepare children for the viewing experience?
Siblings are still kids, and that means they might not be as excited by the viewing as you might hope. That should be okay, and you should plan for that. Make sure you’re ready with quiet toys or snacks.
While we love siblings, a calm environment helps the baby stay relaxed, which makes it easier for the sonographer to work.
Can I bring my cell phone to my ultrasound?
We encourage parents to put their screens away and enjoy the high-definition view on the large monitors. You don’t need to take your own photos or videos, as we’ll give you digital copies after the session is done.
Take this time as “you” time. Put the phone on vibrate or silent. Leave it in another room. All of your messages and calls will still be waiting for you when the appointment is done.
What should you do if you’re feeling uncomfortable during the session?
Speak up! Is the room too cold? Do you need a different pillow?
We’re happy to make adjustments. Your total comfort is our goal.
Whether you’re filming at home or in our office, we’re dedicated to providing a “no rush” experience. This isn’t a doctor’s office where insurance is demanding that we get you out the door as quickly as possible.
